Born and raised in London, England - the youngest son of playwright and novelist Christopher Wilkins - Toby Wilkins relocated to Los Angeles in the mid 1990s to pursue a career in the film industry.

With an extensive background in design, visual effects, and post-production, Wilkins has been bringing his unique vision to feature films, television, and short-form content for the big and small screens for over 15 years.

Wilkins' feature debut Splinter won six ScreamFest Awards including Best Director and Best Picture, a Saturn Award nomination for Best Horror Film, and a nomination for Best Horror Movie at the Spike TV Scream Awards. Splinter received rave reviews from The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, LA Times, New York Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Fangoria, The Times, The Daily Telegraph, USA Today, Variety, Ain't It Cool News, KCRW, LA Weekly, and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 82%.

His first foray into TV came in 2011 when he directed three episodes of the smash hit series Teen Wolf for MTV. Wilkins was then hand picked by creator Ben Ketai to direct the entire third season of Sony/Crackle action thriller Chosen.

Wilkins' early works have been entertaining audiences since 1999, receiving recognition at the world's most prestigious film festivals including multiple Sundance Film Festival premieres such as award winning thriller Staring at the Sun which brought his distinctive style to the attention of horror legend Sam Raimi who shepherded Wilkins, culminating in his second feature, the third installment of Sony Pictures' $280M franchise THE Grudge.

Also an accomplished editor, Wilkins' credits include the award winning horror film Beneath, two seasons of Sony's Chosen, and the debut season of STARTUP - all for long time collaborator Ben Ketai.

In addition to directing, Wilkins has served as producer, cinematographer, visual effects supervisor and artist, on film projects with directors ranging from indie first-timers to luminaries including Bryan Singer, Brett Ratner, and James Cameron. Toby is represented by David Gardner at Principato Young.
